Drury University Career Services
Don’t Search Alone: Drury offers a myriad of services and expert assistance to help with your career search.

With the wavering economy and a recent rise in unemployment, sometimes tackling the job market by yourself can be intimidating at best. Luckily, Drury offers some of the best job search support services for students and alumni. From search engines to business networking opportunities, Drury is committed to helping its patrons secure fulfilling and long lasting careers.
The Career Center is a great place to begin your job search. The center uses recruiting and programming calendars and offers specific links to a number of currently available positions. Here, materials such as Job Choices magazine, their own resource library, and publication, Job Search Strategies, help career service specialists answer any questions or concerns about how to remain a competitive participant in today’s job market. You can find professional guidance for resumes or help locating available positions for specific career paths. Even if you are not sure what direction you want to go in, the career search professionals can help you find a job that will spark your interest and make use of your talents. Just call or visit to make an appointment with an advisor; the Career Center is located in the Findlay Student Center at Drury, room 114.
For those who live outside of Springfield, alumni can also search on their own via the College Central Network on Drury’s website, www.collegecentral.com/du. The College Central Network site allows 24 hour a day access to hundreds of positions across the nation. What’s better is that many of these are specifically targeted toward Drury students and alumni. To access the College Central database, simply type in the site above. Click on “Alumni” and begin browsing.
Another viable option for job hunting can be found through Drury’s networking program, Drury to Drury. This dynamic group seeks to connect local alumni employers with eager alumni employees, the resulting exchange benefiting both parties. Drury to Drury also allows you inside contacts and connections with other successful and motivated alumni. The Springfield chapter currently meets on the second Wednesday of each month at different locations. Jill Wiggins, head of Drury’s Career Center, advises that “the current number one way to find a job is through networking,” making Drury to Drury one of the most successful and reliable options for job seekers, especially in today’s market.
Drury to Drury chapters are also available in Kansas City and St. Louis. Drury to Drury membership ranges from $25 - $50 per year depending on the location. Simply visit the alumni website and click on the Drury to Drury link. You are invited to attend two meetings before becoming a member. With membership, an online directory is also available.
