 Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Distinguished Alumni Award program has been honoring outstanding alumni, friends of the college, and faculty since 1951. Alumni who have distinguished themselves, either in their careers or in their communities, can be nominated. The Distinguished Alumni Awards will be given during Alumni Reunion weekend.
Nominations are accepted for the following Distinguished Alumni Awards online:
Distinguished Career Achievement
This award recognizes an alumna/us of Drury University who has earned special distinction in his or her career, reflecting honor on the University and its alumni. The award is given to a person who has sustained a record of accomplishment with special attention to the accomplishments which embody the University’s mission.
Distinguished Community Service
This recognizes an alumna/us of Drury University who has served his or her community in an exemplary way, sustaining a record of leadership and dedicated service.
Distinguished Service to the University
Recognizes exemplary service by an alumna/us to the university community, enhancing the stature, success and well being of the University and the Alumni Association. The recipient’s extraordinary interest in the University and dedicated volunteer service should be an inspiration to the campus community.
Outstanding Service to the University
This award recognizes a non-alumna/us for exceptional service to the university community or to the Alumni Association.
Distinguished Young Alumni
This award recognizes an alumna/us of Drury University who has earned special distinction in his or her career, reflecting honor on the University and its alumni. The award is given to a person who has not reached the age of 40 and whose record of accomplishment set a standard for life-long excellence.
Special Merit
This award honors individuals or groups in special circumstances such as affinity reunions, special group reunions, the completion of an extraordinary service to the University or community, or exceptional career achievement. This is the only award that can be given posthumously.
Distinguished University Family
This award honors a Drury Family which has collectively or generationally earned distinction in their careers, have provided exemplary service to their communities, or have shown outstanding loyalty to the University.
Distinguished Faculty
This award recognizes a current or emeritus Drury faculty member whose teaching excellence and personal values provided a positive influence that nurtured and enhanced student academic and career achievement. To further honor the Drury Faculty member, a current Drury student nominated by the department represented by the recipient, will receive a scholarship award for his/her academic excellence and active participation in campus activities.

The Distinguished Alumni Award may only be presented to Drury alumni; with the exception of the Service to Drury Award, which may be presented to non-alumni members of the Drury community.
