DESCRIPTION:The Italian ConnectionJune 5-13, 2010This is an incredible opportunity to “connect” with yourself (and good friends) as we journey to Italy.  Over a period of 10 days, we will offer a variety of unique experiences.  From a sighting of the David in Florence to a gondola ride in Venice and a picture with a gladiator in Rome, traversing Italy will bring a myriad of glorious experiences to your memory book.This excursion, for women only, will combine the culture of Italy with a holistic approach to wellness to “connect” you spiritually and aesthetically.  Professor Jacqueline Warren and Professor Todd Lowry will lead you through painting classes and excursions in the museums and churches of Florence.  Dr. Krystal Compas and Darla Harmon will take you to the Vatican and (hopefully) an audience with the Pope in Rome.  As a daily option, Kory Johnson, personal trainer and licensed massage therapist, will provide morning activities and evening massages.Attendees:  Alums or Friends of Drury (limit 12)Cost: $5,000.00 – amount based on double occupancy (airfare not included).  Includes: accommodations, breakfast and lunch, transportation, and a tax deductible donation of $800 - $1,000 (depending on Euro) to Drury’s Study Abroad Scholarship Program for students.Activities: Daily morning sessions include yoga/pilates, guided meditation, and raw food/nutrition seminars. Evening massage will be offered throughout the trip.
